Three Organizations to Inspire You

Oftentimes I get my greatest inspiration from the people I coach. I work with a long list of outstanding organizations. I am highlighting three this year that have profoundly impacted me in 2019

International Rescue Committee

Founded after WWII, IRC responds to the world’s worst crises helping refugees to survive, recover and rebuild their lives, whether at the U.S.-Mexico border or in war-torn Yemen. I am proud to coach IRC leaders around the world and to help them be as effective as possible, often in very challenging circumstances. Their dedication to the organization’s vital humanitarian mission inspires me deeply.

Chief

In February of 2019, Chief opened its doors to female executives and the response has been explosive. Chief believes in a world where all genders transform companies, lead families and push society forward. This private network is helping to drive women to the top – and keep them there. Part of Chief’s offering to members is group coaching (called Core) and I am a guide to several of these cohorts. The talent and resilience of Chief members inspires me to create a space in our Core groups for honest conversations and deep connections that unlock personal and professional growth.

Magnet Theater

I don’t work here, I play here. I have been a student of improv at the Magnet Theater for three years and have grown in so many ways: listening skills, patience, adaptability, and giving up control (a hard one for me). I am humbled by playing with so many skilled teammates of different backgrounds, and having coaches who are truly gifted improv performers and teachers. To be in the flow during an improv scene with teammates is sheer bliss, and it keeps me coming back for more.

I look forward to deepening my connections with all three of these amazing organizations in 2020.
